The Pyramid of Giza, specifically the Great Pyramid, was built for the ancient Egyptian pharaoh Khufu in the 4th Dynasty (c. 2589–2566 BC) as a monumental tomb. It is the largest of the three main pyramids at the Giza complex, the oldest, and was the tallest man-made structure in the world for nearly 4,000 years, remaining the last intact survivor of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World.
